Hill Close Gardens is a rare collection of Victorian and Edwardian detached gardens, originally rented by townspeople who had no space to garden at home. These small plots were used for growing flowers, fruit, and vegetables, and often included charming summer houses where gardeners could relax away from the bustle of town life. Carefully restored, the gardens preserve a unique example of this once-common urban tradition.

Visitors today can explore individually restored plots with heritage planting, traditional orchards, and beautifully reconstructed summer houses.
