Jacksons Wold Garden

North Yorkshire

Garden Details

Jackson’s Wold Garden is a beautiful private country garden situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Covering around three acres, it was created in 1984 by owners Richard and Sarah Cundall after they moved to the farmhouse and began transforming what was once a rough paddock and farmyard into a richly planted landscape. The garden is carefully designed to blend with the surrounding countryside and offers stunning views across the Vale of Pickering. It is known for its colourful borders, unusual plants, and thoughtful layout that combines formal and informal garden styles.

The garden is made up of several different areas, each with its own character. Visitors can explore a traditional walled rose garden filled with old-fashioned roses and herbaceous plants, a kitchen garden with vegetables and flowers, woodland paths, and a wildflower meadow lined with lime trees. There is also a small plant nursery where many of the plants grown in the garden are propagated and sold. Overall, Jackson’s Wold Garden is admired as a classic English country garden, valued for its peaceful atmosphere, seasonal colour, and natural connection to the surrounding landscape.
